Weekly Inspiration

In a perfect world, winter would look like something out of a Doctor Seuss book.  Fluffy snow blanketing the ground and beautiful blue skies.  As January takes off slowly but surely I've been fighting off the rain and wind that has blown its way through downtown Montreal.  The past few days I've been focused on finding little outlets of light around the city - whether it be colorful fruits at the winter market to picking out a new loose leaf tea at Kusmi Paris.  What better way to get out of my own reality by drumming up some inspiration?

This grey tone that has enveloped the city started my winter semester with a whisper, not a bang.  Avoiding the rain and the gloom I've been spending a lot of time skimming the internet and binging on Netflix.  Has anyone seen Making a Murderer? I'm currently on Episode 5 - wrapped up in a cardigan and lighting some candles around my apartment.  Let me know in the comments if you like the show // what you think! I'm super curious.

OOTD: Oversized Stripes

Montreal has finally experienced the inevitable drop in temperature (one of many) that signals the beginning of fall.  During the summer, it's not necessarily colder in this city than it is in New York or Boston - but once September rolls around, the temperature takes a nice swan dive into autumn.  Not the dreadful dive it takes in November, though.  That is when Montreal suddenly becomes ten degrees colder than my hometown in Rhode Island and remains that way throughout the winter (unless it's twenty degrees colder, in that case please kill me.) OOTD: North Carolina Vacation

I'm not sure which is more nerve-wracking: having your father meet your boyfriend or your judicious little sister meet your boyfriend.  This past weekend, I was down in Wilmington, North Carolina with my boyfriend Isaac.  Though my dad had met Isaac a few years prior in Montreal, the rest of my family had only encountered him through the wonders of Facetime.  So, this past weekend was a very exciting time given the fact that I have three younger half-siblings, grandparents, aunts, and cousins who all had to meet Isaac.  Thankfully (and not surprisingly) they all adored him as much as I do. On Saturday night, after a beautiful day on the beach we went to dinner downtown with some more family.  Isaac and I went for a little walk before dinner to snap some outfit photos.  Since only my extended family lives in Wilmington, I hadn't spent much time in the area on my own.  As we strolled along the tree-lined streets, I fell in love with the old houses a...
