Downtown

Image
Okay, this is a tiny bit of a throwback.  I honestly forgot I had shot this outfit! That day I spent with Solène having the most wonderful breakfast at Le Cartet , the most delicious brunch spot downtown.  McGill street is a wonderful area in Old Port and the buildings serve as a fantastic backdrop for a classic outfit such as this one.  You all probably know I adore this peacoat I thrifted back in Toronto last year.  I paired it with some new finds like my little pom-pom hat from Zara and a big blanket scarf I got for Christmas.  And Blundstones, of course! Those are an essential here in Montreal. Coat - J. Crew ( similar ) / Shoes - Blundstone / Scarf - Zara / Hat - Zara ( similar )

Vermont Weekend

Image
If you follow me on instagram you'd know that we recently spent the most wonderful Easter weekend outside the city traversing the countryside of Vermont.  So wonderful getting out of the Montreal bubble and seeing some actual nature (crazy, I know.)  We spent our time between Middlebury and Montpelier - not to mention the time we spent at Ben & Jerry's wolfing down intense amounts of ice cream.  Could it get better than that?  I also enjoyed dressing a bit more casually than usual to fit the mountain vibes that Vermont gives off. One thing about the countryside is that the people there seem so relaxed and life seems a bit slower. No people yelling outside the window at 3am, no honking cars, no sirens off in the distance.  We got to eat at some of the best restaurants in the area including my personal favorite, The Bobcat Café & Brewery . My City My Style

Image
Earlier this week Lizzi from Shot From the Street  created a post about her three favorite areas of Manchester and an outfit to go along with a Manchester vibe.  I really loved the idea of this post so today I snatched up my best friend and we went on an adventure through our favorite areas of Montreal.  Several hours later we were 1) exhausted 2) hungry and 3) COLD! If there's anything I have to say about Montreal is that it does not disappoint in terms of weather.  The past 24 hours have been a whirlwind of snow and cold coming down as winter reared its ugly little head at the end of March.  Needless to say, I am rather unhappy.  Anyways! Back to posting about what I love about Montreal. For this post I decided to wear my long black coat c/o Zara and some vintage Kenneth Cole booties while Solène was a tad more practical in her Moose Knuckle coat and adorable pinafore dress she thrifted. If you visit Montreal, you go to Old Port.  When I first visited the city I wa

Balcony Looks

Hello from blustery Montreal! The weather honestly cannot make up its mind.  For a few moments yesterday the sun came out and it was above freezing so I was able to pop outside my apartment to snap these photos.  It seems like this is my weekday uniform - sweater dress and flats.  Of course, a few weeks ago it was sweater dress and boots.  Now I can enjoy these adorable flats I picked up in New York this past summer. Dress - Anthropologie / Shoes - Topshop / Purse - Marc Jacobs

Style Alert: Patchwork Boots

Image
This morning I was scrolling through the remnants of the Rodarte / & Other Stories collection to see what has yet to be snatched up by the masses.  As I made my way through the collection (mind you, this isn't the first time I've peeked at it) these boots caught my eye.  No, not the "OMG I NEED THESE" kind of eye-catching.  More like, wait haven't I seen these before? And I had! Only the other day as I was window shopping at a local boutique L'Intervalle.  So, here's three cute examples of patchwork boots that I would definitely be down to sport if someone threw me a few hundred dollars. Rodarte & Other Stories - $488 L'Intervalle - $188 River Island - $205

Grey Days

Image
I'm so monochrome.  It's hard to feel bright when the sky is grey and everything is a tad rainy.  There's something so liminal about this time of year where the snow is melting and the ground is consistently wet.  Thankfully when these photos were taken it was in between the small showers and I was able to wear my little Cole Haan flats that are so special.  If you see those little dots spinning across the viewpoint that would be snow flurries!  Despite the fact that I've been living in such a frigid place, I still prefer snow flurries to rain.  Love the little twinkle heels and how easy it is to just throw them on to add a little sparkle to any outfit.  Also, given the fact that it's almost impossible to wear anything but boots in Montreal shows how rare it is to wear flats like this. Wake up Calls

Ohmygosh.  If you're wondering where I've been this past month or so - you could have found me half asleep in bed most likely.  10/10 would NOT recommend getting mono.  But!! I'm back and I'm ready to get even more involved into my blog.  If you've stuck with me - send me a comment! What do you want to see from this blog in the future?
