Favorite Blogs Post

Hey guys!  I'm back in Rhode Island (my home) for the weekend and things have been insanely busy.  I'll make a post soon about everything going on but for now check this out - one of my favorite fashion websites I read everyday is whowhatwear.com it's a perfect resource for celebrity style, style inspiration, and little interesting tidbits.  Anyways, check out their latest quiz - which sex and the city character are you?  I'm Carrie Bradshaw!  I always connected the most with Carrie anyways.  Take the quiz here and (if anyone is reading this) comment with who you got! http://www.whowhatwear.com/sex-and-the-city-character-style-quiz

There's a lot of things one can accomplish on the weekend

It's mid-week and I'm really longing for the weekend.  Last weekend, Isaac and I accomplished so much traversing around town.  We did so many adult things like buying groceries for the week, and stocking up on his work clothing at Zara.  I'm studying art history and one of my assignments required a visit to the Museum of Fine Arts so that was yet another stop on our trip.  I have to say that my Topshop heeled booties might be one of my favorite errand-running shoes.  Sure, heels tend to make your feet sore after walking a lot but these are worn in enough that the Montreal streets didn't tire me out.  Also, I'm in love with this shrug I found off the sale section at Urban Outfitters.  It was originally priced at $44 (way out of my price range for such a small item) but I managed to snag it for $9.  My favorite thing about it is that it can turn sleeveless pieces into long-sleeved pieces - just like the dress I wore this day. Anyways, I hope everyone

It's cold outside

So this week has been insanely busy.  I keep trying to find times to do outfit posts and school work has been eating up every last bit of free time I have!  Also sleep….sleep has been eating up a lot of time.  It’s that weird moment in the year where everyone gets sick, so I’m drinking lots of orange juice but it’s tough when both boyfriend and roommates are sick.  I just sleep too much. It’s such a rarity that i wear colors.  I think this will be the year where I really start wearing turtlenecks most days.  Like, it’s getting so cold here already (note: snow on the ground) and I’m pretty sure turtlenecks may be my savior this year. This particular one is from American Apparel, and let me just say that it might be one of my favorite pieces of clothing.  Definitely plan on buying a few more before the season is over.  Also, I didn’t have the stomach to even take off my coat to shoot these photos.  At least it’s finally the weekend!  I’m about to go out and run some erra

Lazy Sundays

It is officially snowing in Montreal.  I woke up this morning to a dusting of white on the ground and honestly I am so not ready for winter.  Here in Montreal, once the snow hits we really don’t see the ground for about four months.  I love winter but I also like being able to wear flats outside without them getting soaked from the slush!   Either way, it was still a pretty nice day.  I had a few errands to run and Isaac (the boyfriend - also the photographer for like all of my photos) carted along.  We stopped at one of my favorite little parks in the city to snap a few pics and some of them came out rather well!   Jacket - J-Crew (thrifted) / Earmuffs - Aldo / Sweater - Isaac’s / Boots - Topshop / Leggings - Lululemon

Ephemera - A Fridge Door Gallery Exhibition

Image
Last night was definitely a night to remember.  As head of marketing for The Fridge Door Gallery, I have been working incredibly hard alongside my other executive members in order to put on our Fall show titled “Ephemera.”  This year we amped up our advertising, rented a gallery space, and made the entire event more professional.  Of course, there were a few bumps along the way but we managed to pull it off. Somehow I managed to become the official photographer of the night because I brought my camera and the person we asked to do it never showed, so therefore I have lots of photos to show! I wish I had the chance to buy a new dress for the event, but I threw together an outfit comprising of a plain black thrifted dress, Topshop booties, and a PacSun kimono.  Overall, a fantastic night!

New Beginnings

Hello interwebs!  I haven’t blogged like this in a while - a space where I actually write words, post pictures and talk about my life.  Back in highschool I went through a period of time where I thought I would be an amazing fashion blogger…don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t bad at it.  I wasn’t fantastic either.  My goal now is to improve upon that old blog via this new slate.  So here it is in all of its glory - FKA Bean.  Enjoy
