New York, I Love You

This summer has been insane.  I've been working constantly between my three jobs and have had almost no time for fun!  Thankfully, my main job had a two week summer break where I had a chance to take a deep breath and spend some time by myself, with friends and seeing family.  One of the things I was able to do is visit New York City two times and see my great friend Haleigh.  We spent the entire day downtown and got a chance to see the new Whitney Museum down in Meatpacking.  Although I was a tad disappointed with the collection itself, the building was super impressive as was the view of downtown.   I did really enjoy the Calder circus they had on display and the minimalist exhibits, so if you go I definitely suggest keeping an eye out for those.

I made the decision to wear a breezy dress from Free People which worked perfectly because of how incredibly hot it was in the city that day.  Paired with my favorite Birkenstocks (yes, they're not dead!) it worked as a fantastic day in the city outfit.  I was even still comfortable enough to snooze on the train back home later at night!

Have you been to the new Whitney Museum?  What did you think? Tell me in the comments!
